Angelina Jolie is inching closer to land a lead role in the highly anticipated "Sin City 2." She is now havin' some "serious talks" to appear in the Robert Rodriguez-directed sequel.
According to Movie Hole, the "Changeling" star first spoke to director/producer Rodriguez and writer Frank Miller about the possibility of getting involved in the film in 2006. However, the project slacked because the producers reportedly weren't ready to give the green signal yet on the production.
But everything is running smoothly now and the filmmakers are trying to get Angelina to officially commit, as per the website's source.
Jolie would play Ava, the lead character in Miller's "A Dame to Kill," in which the sequel is based on. She's the former lover of photographer Dwight McCarthy. She professes her love for him, but he finds out she's in way over her head.
Clive Owen is loosely attached to reprise his role as McCarthy.
It was recently reported that The Weinstein Company has lost its film rights to the 2005 blockbuster film's followup, though the film studio has denied it.
